I am a Medicine Weaver. This means I weave a fabric of healing for each client based on the individual. I work with energy, light, plant spirits, the otherworld, akashic records, crystals, sound and the elementals.
I have been working with the spirit realm since I was young, which led me to energy healing. I am a certified Usui Reiki Master and a Rahanni Celestial Healer. I have trained in Celtic Shamanism and use Shamanic practices in my healing sessions. Over the past 4 years, I have practiced intuitively with the land and stone circles where my family is from in Scotland, primarily the Isles of Skye, Arran, Lewis, Harris and Iona. For the last 22 years, I have studied many styles of yoga and meditation. In 2004, I became a certified Vinyasa yoga teacher. Recently I have trained as a Flower Essence Practitioner, Akashic Records Reader, and have studied herbalism for the past 3 years. I make all of my medicines by hand, often with plants that I have grown and nurtured.
I hold a B.A. in English, and an M.F.A. in Poetry, and I have written several books including a book of poems I published in 2007, called Toward The Light, after which my healing practice is named. In 2017, I created Embodied Yoga and Writing Workshops to offer nourishment to both writers who want to move, and yogis who want to write.
My belief system is uncomplicated: everyone deserves to be happy and to feel good. This can be as easy as going to bed early, eating nourishing foods or taking a walk during the day. If we treat ourselves well, we can move in the world from a place of abundance and light rather than fear and scarcity. This light will emanate out to everyone we come into contact with. It is a simple practice: compassion, kindness and forgiveness. Look for the ordinary beauty found in the inner wisdom of one’s own body. Treat yourself well.
In the words of Yogi Bhajan, “Travel light, live light, spread the light, be the light.”
